Baker to Vegas

Team Glendale took on one of the most challenging law enforcement races in the country—the Baker to Vegas Relay.

Team Glendale competed in the annual Baker to Vegas Relay race,a grueling event that spans approximately 120 miles and consists of 20 legs, each with varying levels of difficulty. The race presents extreme conditions, with temperatures climbing well over 100 degrees during the day and dropping below freezing at night.

Our team successfully completed the race and earned 1st place in our category and 26th overall.  This is a historic accomplishment for our department, marking the first time we have taken 1st place in our category.

What makes this achievement so meaningful is not just theresult, but what it represents. For decades, the men and women of this department have shown up—training in the early morning hours, running in the dark on the streets of Glendale, pushing through injuries, and balancing work, family, and a commitment to something greater than themselves. Many came close, and each of them helped build the foundation that made this moment possible.

This win belongs just as much to those who came before us as it does to the team that competed this weekend.

To our runners, volunteers, friends, family, and those who remained behind to cover the city so this team could compete—thank you. Yourepresent this department with pride, dedication, and professionalism.

This is a proud moment for our department, earned through hard work, sacrifice, and commitment.
